Anchoris 0.1.5: Faster Navigation, Better Editing, and More Reliable Export

Anchoris 0.1.5 is now available for Mac.

This release focuses on the everyday flow of working inside a local-first workspace for Mac: moving between files, editing notes, referencing related materials, organizing project work, opening context side by side, and exporting documents more reliably.

The goal is simple: make Anchoris feel faster, calmer, and more dependable when you are working across notes, documents, captures, and project materials.

A smoother way to move through your workspace

Anchoris now includes Back and Forward navigation, so you can move through recently opened files without losing your place.

This is especially useful when you are jumping between notes, source documents, project materials, and references. Instead of manually finding the previous file again, you can move through your file history more naturally.

The File Tree also now includes a Recent section, making it easier to return to the files you just worked on. Recent files update immediately, can be collapsed, and stay visually separate from your real folder structure.

Your folders remain your folders. Recent simply gives you a faster way back into active work.

Better file references while writing

File references are now easier to insert and easier to understand.

When you type @, the file reference picker appears near your cursor, making the interaction feel connected to where you are writing. Anchoris also improves file reference search, chip styling, hover previews, and broken reference handling.

This makes it easier to connect notes, project files, research materials, and related documents without relying only on folders.

For a local-first workspace, this matters. Your files stay on your Mac, but the relationships between them become easier to see and use.

More useful document editing interactions

Anchoris 0.1.5 also improves several small but important document editing details.

You can now create a new note from selected text. When a paragraph, idea, or section deserves to become its own note, you can turn it into a new local Markdown file without leaving your current context.

This release also includes fixes and polish around text selection, editor popovers, inline file references, pasted images, duplicate naming, and other writing interactions. These are not loud features, but they make the Markdown editor for Mac feel more predictable in daily use.

The result is a smoother editing experience for people who work across notes, drafts, research, and project documents.

Project actions without losing context

You can now add the current file to a project directly from the file menu.

This makes project workspace organization faster. When you discover that a note, document, capture, or source file belongs to a project, you can attach it without leaving the file you are reading or editing.

Anchoris 0.1.5 also improves project material titles and project-related UI details, so project work feels clearer and less cluttered.

Side-by-side context

The side view experience has been improved so you can open another file alongside your current work.

This is useful when you are comparing notes, reviewing source material, checking a capture, or keeping a reference visible while writing. You can also open the side file as the main editor when you want to continue from there.

For research-heavy work, this reduces the need to constantly switch back and forth between files.

More reliable PDF export

This release also includes important fixes to PDF export.

Anchoris 0.1.5 improves export reliability around images, links, fallback handling, and export diagnostics. Missing local images and remote images that cannot be exported are now handled more clearly, and link annotations are more reliable.

PDF export should now feel more predictable when turning Markdown documents into shareable files.
